Detailed Description
This is a cute specimen of bournonite crystals on barite crystals. The bournonite crystals are sharp cogwheel twins with a nice patina. Striking contrast with the barite blades. In very good condition, minor chipping and a couple of incomplete crystals. Cool, unusual material from a lesser known French locality.
About These Specimens from the Mésage Mine
The Mésage Mine was originally explored in the early-nineteenth century for iron, and the underground workings have been abandoned since the late-nineteenth century. French collector Grégoire de Bodinat recently collected these beautiful specimens at the Mésage Mine.
