Description
This specimen hosts beautiful glassy blue-purple fluorite crystals. The crystals are sharp, lustrous cuboctahedra, with great transparency. This specimen was from the 2017 find that hosted this particular hue of fluorite (some have called it ‘”tanzanite fluorite”). In excellet condition, no damage, peripheral contacts where this was attached to surrounding rock. Stands perfectly for display as photographed.
The hue of these fluorite crystals varies depending on the light source – with LED lights they are a cold blue-purple, with halogen a warmer, more violet-purple hue, and in daylight colour temperature (shown) similar to the LED blue-purple colour.
This is a gorgeous fluorite!
