This specimen is packed with clusters of edge-on hematite crystals. The hematite crystals are sharp and lustrous. In excellent condition – no damage, incomplete crystals around the periphery where this was attached. The crystals on this piece are bright!

About These Hematites

These fine hematite specimens were excavated from a deposit in the hills extremely close to the town of Sainte-Marie-aux-Mines. The deposit was worked in the 1970s and 1980s, and these specimens date back to those workings.
