Description

Detailed Description

This is a beauty! A slender arrangement of delicate light blue hemimorphite crystal clusters, this piece has character. The hemimorphite crystals are bundled in radiating groups, and in some places on the piece the crystals are much more separated, with the classic hemimorphite form clearly apparent. The colour is quite distinctive – it is a blue with a slight aqua hue – and these crystal faces are lustrous, so there’s lots of sparkle. In excellent condition, no damage. It can be displayed equally nicely either horizontally or vertically, but to me, this piece jumps out best if it is suported to stand vertically on a stand.

This is a first-class cabinet specimen!

About these Specimens

Although Iran has long been known to be a source of spectacular mineral specimens, it has never been easy to procure them. A window opened for a while, and these specimens came out in 2012, from contemporary finds at that time. (They made their debut in Ste Marie in 2013.) Sanctions in various jurisdictions around the world since then have restricted specimen buying, but hopefully this will change so that we’ll be able to see more interesting things from Iran again.
