Description
This specimen is much more 3-D and with distinctive crystals than the photographs suggest – I hope I’ve taken enough angles to give you a sense of it. It is a cluster of bladed light blue prehnite crystals, arranged in a slightly curved grouping. The crystals are well defined with good lustre. In good condition, it has a chipped/incomplete area that is either low on the piece or off to the side, depending on how one chooses to display it (it’s at the right-hand edge in the first photo and right-centre in the fifth photo). Stands perfectly for display.
The hue of this specimen changes dramatically under different light sources. Under halogen it is a cold, light blue, and under LED and daylight, it has more depth of colour and more warmth.
