Description
This is a very cool specimen – it features smoky quartz, amethystine quartz and a nice phantom. The quartz is comprised of a column-like aggregate of crystals, with smoky quartz at the lower/front and pale amethyst up top, except that the bottom termination of the smoky quartz is also very faintly amethystine. The crystals are lustrous and sharp, and also exhibit some intricate etch patterns visible under magnification. The phantom is best seen in the second and fourth photos, in the middle of the large smoky quartz crystal. There are small sharp albite crystals in association with the quartz, on the microcline. In excellent condition, a couple of small missing side-crystals not obvious from the front display view. This is out of the ordinary – and pretty!
