Detailed Description
This is a beauty – it’s been in my own collection since 1994. As was the case for the specimens from this find (see below), the hackmanite is covered in a veneer of sparkling albite crystals. The albites on this specimen are a pretty, delicate pale pink colour. In excellent condition – no damage. This one is a sweetheart.

About these Specimens of Sodalite var. Hackmanite
Although sodalite is a relatively common mineral at Mont Saint-Hilaire, well-formed crystals are quite rare. These specimens are from a pocket collected by Gilles Haineault in 1994. The specimens from this pocket are entirely distinctive, as the hackmanite crystals are coated with albite crystals.
