Detailed Description
This is a great spodumene crystal (4.3 cm), perched at the termination of a quartz crystal. The spodumene is pale pink, almost colourless, and it is transparent. This specimen is a superb twin, with multiple sharp crystal faces at the termination, and the re-entrant faces are prominent. The twinning plane (composition plane) is visible down the pngth of the prism face as well. The crystal is sharp with good lustre – many faces are glassy. The spodumene is actually crystallized at the bottom termination as well, and most of the underside of the quartz is recrystallized. In excellent condition, no damage to the spodumene, a couple of chips in the quartz.
A killer twinned spodumene.
