Description
Detailed Description
This is a sharp kunzite crystal, with a simple top termination and etched/stepped faces at the lower termination. The prism faces are striated and the crystal is lustrous. The liac/pink colour is zoned, with a transparent zone near the top of the crystal. In excellent condition – no damage. The crystal owes its unusual shape to events late in the crystallization process that ended with etching and minor recrystallization.
A beautiful kunzite.

About these Spodumene Crystals
These spodumene crystals are from a 2017 pocket that produced colour-zoned (lilac/pink – pale green – colourless) crystals, along with some specimens that were purely lilac/pink and some that had no such hues at all. Although spodumene crystals are often etched or poorly defined, this pocket included sharp well-formed crystals and relatively low incidence of etching/dissolution features.
