Thomsonite

Specimen # 101141
Mineral: Thomsonite
Location: Thomsonite, Cape Blomidon, Kings Co., Nova Scotia, Canada
Size: 6.4 x 5.2 x 4.3 cm

Description

This specimen hosts a 3 cm group of thomsonite crystal balls. The surfaces of the balls are composed of a myriad of bladed thomsonite crystal terminations, visible with magnification. There are small pearly heulandite crystals in association. In excellent condition, no damage. Collected in 2006, it is from the collection of Ronnie Van Dommelen. Great contrast with green celadonite on the basalt – an aesthetic thomsonite specimen.

The thomsonite from Cape Blomidon is thomsonite-Ca.
