Detailed Description
A ball of sharp, fine bladed hematite crystals surrounded by quartz crystals. The hematite crystals from this locality are thin and delicate – it is hard to acquire specimens that are not badly damaged. The quartz crystals on this piece have protected the hematite, such that it is in amazing condition for the locality. The hematite crystals are undamaged as viewed in the optimal display view (as in the first photo), a few incomplete at the sides. The quartz crystals are sharp and lustrous, translucent to water-clear. Two of the main quartz crystals have one termination face that crystallized up against a flat surface – they are a clean shape and are crystallized with interrupted growth. A beautiful hematite and quartz specimen!
