Description

A super specimen of water-clear fluorite crystals on matrix, this one features cubes up to 2.0 cm. They’re like bevelled ice cubes. The crystal morphology from this find is distinctive, dominated by bright glassy cube faces and frosty bevels derived from the dodecahedral form. If you look closely, there are in fact tiny octahedral-form triangular faces at the cube corners (many of those need magnification to see them, but they’re there). The last two photos show these, for all of you who love crystal morphology as much as I do. Textbook form!

In excellent condition, there is no damage, just contacts around the edges. There is some internal crazing, but not as much as many pieces have. This one has lots of good transparency and also particularly nice internal play of light.

The aesthetics are great with the principal fluorite perched up on top left as it is, and it stands perfectly for display.
