Description
This grossular from the Steve Szilard collection was originally acquired from the mine geologist at the Jeffrey Mine, who had it on display in his office. It is covered with sparkling crystals of grossular and looks great either sitting down (as photographed in the full- and half-specimen photos) or standing up. These grossular crystals are of the highest lustre, translucent to transparent. There are a few minor diopside crystals in association. In excellent condition, this is beautiful cabinet specimen from this famous (and now closed) locality. Hard to capture in a single photograph, but I hope the other ones show it better – up close, this piece is a landscape covered in jewels.
