Fluor-uvite is an uncommon tourmaline group species, and this is a fine specimen. From the classic locality near Richville, New York, this piece hosts several crystals of fluor-uvite. As is typical of this locality, not all the crystals had room to fully develop. The main crystal is in fact doubly-terminated – it also has some faces that are under-developed. The termination of the main crystal is sharp and glassy, with rich golden brown colour. In excellent condition. The back of the specimen was cut with a saw to reduce unwanted matrix. A very good fluor-uvite.
