Quartz

Specimen # 201091
Mineral: Quartz
Location: Manali, Kullu District, Himachal Pradesh, India
Size: 6.9 x 2.7 x 2.2 cm

Description

This is an unusual quartz crystal from an unusual locality. The crystal is doubly-terminated with minor prism faces. It seems to have formed around or against adjacent quartz crystals, but all surfaces are crystallized, so if that is the case, it did so and detached before the end of all crystallization processes. The crystal is sharp, lustrous and transparent with internal wisps. A beautiful one-of-a-kind specimen from the John White quartz collection.
