A very fine classic specimen of brookite on quartz from Magnet Cove, from my personal collection. The brookite crystals reach up to 1.1 cm and are perched on an elongated quartz crystal. This piece seems to have formed as a floater, crystallized all around with no point of attachment. In excellent condition – no damage to the brookites, and an area at the top of the quartz on one side that looks as if it could have been damaged in collecting is actually a geological-age feature, as crystallization patterns can be seen with magnification. A very aesthetic arrangement for a Magnet Cove brookite!
