Description

An incredibly rare specimen of native gold in quartz and magnetite from Maryland. This specimen was collected by Fred Parker in about 1990. It was a small pile of rock that was apparently a minor iron prospect. Fred wrote to John in correspondence that he exhausted the site and that is was reclaimed for the Piney Run Nature Park behind the Senior Center. John acquired the specimen from Kristalle, and then contacted Fred Parker about the story of the specimen. The specimen includes labels from Kristalle, Fred Parker an of course John’s label, along with a printed copy of the email correspondence with Fred Parker about the specimen’s origins.
