Description
A beautiful Liliana Mine quartz of the type sometimes referred to as “minaret” quartz. This piece features two generations of crystallized quartz – the brilliant second generation: transparent, doubly-terminated, glassy, lustrous, very faintly amethystine crystals, forming a ring all around the single first generation crystal. The underlying first generation crystal is a six-sided bar of quartz that spanned an open cavity – usually these remained attached and unterminated at both ends. This piece is very unusual because it does have terminations at either end of the first generation crystal. Some of the second-generation crystals are sceptres. In excellent condition – two small incomplete spots, low on the piece, not distracting, and not in view from my own preferred display angle. From the Tracy Kimmel collection, formerly in the John White quartz collection (JSW # 12-8-2).
