Detailed Description
A great matrix specimen from this find – a ball of faintly amethystine quartz on a background of radiating milky quartz crystals that comprised part of the pocket wall. The crystals in the cluster are sharp and lustrous. Gorgeous McKay Head quartz!

About These Quartz Specimens from McKay Head
The cliffs of McKay Head are east along the Bay of Fundy shore from Wasson’s Bluff. The locality has long been known among collectors for vugs lined with milky quartz crystals and rarely analcime. However a series of pockets collected during 2020-2022 produced beautiful Quartz groups of a different style – balls and “pineapples”, comprised of lustrous little crystals ranging from colourless to faintly amethystine. This specimen is from that series of pockets.
