Description
A classic cabinet specimen of botryoidal hematite from the Florence Mine. This specimen has good iron-red colour and nice lustre. In excellent condition, no damage (just incomplete areas around the periphery where it was attached). A great 3-D specimen, stands perfectly for display with just a bit of back-up support (given the weight.
From the Tracy Kimmel Collection, this specimen has only one label with it (Basil Richmond Minerals), indicating that it had been acquired from well-known Cornwall collector and dealer Richard Barstow and that it was collected prior to October 1976.
An exceptionally fine Cumbrian hematite!
