I’ve posted superb new specimens in this new Bou Azzer Update. A few localities from this famous Moroccan mining district are represented, including the famous Agoudal Mine, which unfortunately has just recently closed.
I’ve added a few excellent new specimens in this Morocco Update. This update includes some particularly fine and unusual pieces – some are rather colourful!
Every March, Toronto hosts PDAC, the huge mining industry convention. This year, my former partners at Stikeman Elliott invited me to set up mineral displays for their annual dinner during PDAC. It was not only great to be back and seeing everyone, but fun to spend a night with great minerals under the lights.
This Democratic Republic of Congo Update features fine azurites from a new find at Kibwi, an excellent primary malachite from the Tantara Mine and deep pink cobaltoan calcite from Kolwesi.
Who could pass up the chance to adventure in one of the world’s greatest mineral countries? Morocco hosts to some of the great contemporary specimen producing localities of our time, in a beautiful region with stunning landscapes.
After the Sahara adventure, it was time to descend into the workings of the world famous Mibladen mining district.
