From a recent visit, I’ve posted some of my favourite specimens from the fabulous Mineralogy Museum at L’École des Mines de Paris.
I’ve added new specimens in this new Worldwide Update, including specimens from the Pete Richards collection and the Steve Szilard collection. I hope you enjoy them!
I’ve posted a new update featuring the first of many specimens to come, from the collection of my friend Tracy A. Kimmel. Tracy built an excellent, substantial collection of fine minerals, and I acquired it this year. I have also written a post about Tracy (see Profiles and Tributes), and I really hope you’ll enjoy reading about her – she was a remarkable person.
I’ve posted new worldwide mineral specimens from the Gerald Panneton collection. This update features spectacular pieces, some of which are right up with the best I’ve offered on the website.
I’ve posted excellent new specimens from the John S. White quartz collection, representing many different phenomena of quartz crystallization, also from a great diversity of localities and mineral environments.
I’ve posted the second update of many specimens to come from the John S. White quartz collection. In this update there are many specimens with inclusions.
I’ve added great new specimens in a new update of pieces from the Steve Szilard Collection. Steve is a well-known and highly respected Canadian mineral collector and this update includes fine mineral specimens from all over the world.
I’ve posted the second in a series of updates with superb specimens from John White’s collection.
As you may have seen in my Tucson blog post, a recent find at Orange River, South Africa has produced some beautiful quartz crystals with exquisite sharp red phantoms. I’ve posted them in this Red Phantom Quartz Update.
The Tucson Gem and Mineral show was great this year! This report includes photos of mineral specimens from many new finds.
