A superb skeletal quartz with clay inclusions, highlighting the “windows” throughout the crystal. This crystal has bright glassy lustre, great form and is in excellent condition – a tiny imperfection at one termination, you really have to be looking for it to notice. From the John S. White quartz collection (#14-10-6), one of the nicest […]

A beautiful Liliana Mine quartz of the type sometimes referred to as “minaret” quartz. This piece features two generations of crystallized quartz – the brilliant second generation: transparent, doubly-terminated, glassy, lustrous, very faintly amethystine crystals, forming a ring all around the single first generation crystal. The underlying first generation crystal is a six-sided bar of […]

This is a fantastic specimen from the Liliana Mine – one crystal has a complex sceptre, one has a simple sceptre with a tiny reverse-sceptre on top, and the final of the three main crystals is a simple, terminated first generation crystal. The sceptre heads are glassy, with bright lustre and the faintest hint of […]

A beautiful cluster of quartz crystals, with a central vertical parallel growth and small crystals radiating outward from it. These crystals are sharp with brilliant lustre – all the parallel-growth terminations sparkle under the lights.  From the John S. White collection, really nice! About John S. White

A group of sharp, lustrous slightly divergent quartz crystals with a blanket of siderite crystals on one side (and a few small ones all over). The siderite crystals are in fact pseudomorphs after calcite. This specimen is from the John S. White collection (#23-2-12) – he acquired it from Peter Megaw. An aesthetic and classy […]

A striking specimen: this is a cut and polished section of scenic jasper with a bold colour change in the middle. On the left-hand side, the banding has obvious iron-induced colouring –  a combination of cream, yellowish, reddish and maroon. A stark dividing-line sets apart the right-hand side, of mostly greys and creams. Topped with […]
