This is a dramatic group of beautiful blue kyanite crystals in massive quartz. Kyanite is a rock-forming mineral, which is found enclosed in one or more other minerals. Kyanite very rarely has perfect natural terminations and the kyanite crystals comprising this specimen have typical rugged ends, not clean terminations. These crystals have nice colour and […]

This specimen features truly outstanding Swiss quartz crystals – they have top quartz lustre and clarity – it doesn’t get better than this! The main crystals each refract the light into rainbow/spectral colours. In excellent condition, a couple of contacts and incomplete small crystals around the periphery. This is a top quality Alpine quartz from […]

This is a brilliant vanadinite from Los Lamentos – these brown vanadinites were formerly referred to as the “endlichite” variety, and are now known as “vanadinite, var. arsenic-bearing” (catchy!). An older specimen, this piece was collected in the 1960s, and was in the collection of the A.E. Seaman Mineral Museum of Michigan Tech (collection specimen […]

A beautiful classic Red Cloud wulfenite, with one central crystal and some additional crystals in association. The wulfenite crystals have top lustre and sharpness. The central crystal is a vibrant red-orange colour  – in the display case under the lights, it screams colour from across the room. This crystal is 1.6 cm and is in […]

A gorgeous stack of intense purple fluorite cubes from Elmwood. These fluorite crystals are sharp, with good lustre typical of Elmwood fluorites, and with outstanding colour and internal glow under good lighting. These crystals are grape-juice purple! This is a fantastic vivianite from the 2019 find at the Rosia Poieni Mine, one of the great European discoveries in recent years. As Tom Moore wrote of these specimens, the best rival the great Bolivian vivianites. To my knowledge, this is one of the largest crystals from the find – it is a major […]

A wonderful twinned cassiterite on muscovite from Mt. Xuebaoding – if you were to design a perfect specimen of this material in your imagination, in this size, this is what it would look like. the cassiterite is sharp, with mirror-bright lustre, and absolutely flawless. It is then perched perfectly among delicate silvery muscovite crystals. From […]

A superb doubly-terminated crystal of elbaite, variety rubellite, from the classic Himalaya Mine. This crystal is sensational – on matrix, complete 360 degrees – pristine. It is a classic illustration of hemimorphic crystal growth, where the crystal forms of each termination are different – very shallow at the top, and pyramidal at the bottom. This […]

This is a large pink fluorapatite nestled in bladed crystals of muscovite. The shape of this fluorapatite is more interesting and complex than a typical single crystal, as this fluorapatite exhibits parallel-growth. The fluorapatite is sharp, glassy, and highly lustrous – and it’s a very good size at about 4 cm across. In excellent condition […]

This is a pair of gorgeous green titanite twins with albite on matrix from the Haramosh Mountains. These titanite crystals are sharp as knife blades, with bright, glassy faces. They include hues of golden and green. In excellent condition, no damage. From the Gerald Panneton collection, this is an exquisite titanite specimen!

A wonderful pairing of two gem crystals – a water-clear, brilliant topaz, and a transparent aquamarine – with a nest of amber-coloured muscovite crystals. The topaz crystal is so bright, lustrous and glassy with some faces as bright as topaz can be. It is pristine – anything in the photographs that looks otherwise is inside […]

This is a superb spessartine set in the side of a quartz crystal, and associated with snow-white albite. The 1.7 cm spessartine is deep red with top glassy lustre, and it is pristine. The spessartine crystal is actually subtly parallel growth, and it exhibits a fantastic balance between trapezohedral and dodecahedral faces – this is […]
