Description
This aegirine is really different – the termination is composite, comprised of an outer rim of sharp, thin, bladed individual terminations around the outside of the crystal perimeter, and the centre is hollow, a crater, with well crystallized crater walls, formed by these blades. This specimen has top lustre and sharpness, with some glints of internal green (more a forest green hue than the more typical olive-hue from this locality). In excellent condition – a couple of the blades have minor chipping, you don’t really see well without magnifiying. A great piece.
