Detailed Description

Sharp, lustrous orange chabazite crystals from the April 2022 pocket. These crystals have lighter colouration at the edges so that they stand out from one another. In excellent condition, some incomplete crystals at the edges where this was attached.  A very attractive Wasson’s Bluff chabazite!

About The Chabazites From Wasson’s Bluff

Wasson’s Bluff is world famous for colourful chabazite crystals, ranging in colour from pinks to various hues of orange and all the way to dark red. The chabazites from Wasson’s Bluff have been collected since the mid-19th century, and production of truly fine specimens has been sporadic. Although several of the productive zones have been exhausted as the basalt has eroded away to the underlying sandstone, occasional finds have produced excellent specimens.
