Description
Detailed Description
This is a specimen of particularly glassy chabazite crystals from the area at Wasson’s Bluff known as the “Pink Zone”. The colour is a warm pinkish hue, certainly more pink than orange or beige, but not a bright pink. The chabazite crystals have prominent modifications and all are penetration twins. The crystal group at the top of the specimen is complete, all-around (ie 360 degrees). In excellent condition. A beautiful and classy chabazite!

About The Chabazites From Wasson’s Bluff
Wasson’s Bluff is world famous for colourful chabazite crystals, ranging in colour from pinks to various hues of orange and all the way to dark red. The chabazites from Wasson’s Bluff have been collected since the mid-19th century, and production of truly fine specimens has been sporadic. Although several of the productive zones have been exhausted as the basalt has eroded away to the underlying sandstone, occasional finds have produced excellent specimens.
