Detailed Description

Sharp, lustrous orange chabazite crystals from Wasson’s Bluff, with two uncommon contact twins in the centre of the group. In very good condition – incomplete crystals around the periphery where this was attached to adjacent parts of the pocket. Collected in 2019. Stands for display as photographed and looks great.

About The Chabazites From Wasson’s Bluff

Wasson’s Bluff is world famous for colourful chabazite crystals, ranging in colour from pinks to various hues of orange and all the way to dark red. The chabazites from Wasson’s Bluff have been collected since the mid-19th century, and production of truly fine specimens has been sporadic. Although several of the productive zones have been exhausted as the basalt has eroded away to the underlying sandstone, occasional finds have produced excellent specimens.
