Description
This is quite the datolite specimen – it features a beautiful main crystal of datolite with smaller crystals standing up on curved green aggregates of crystalline prehnite. The datolite is sharp, with some moderate lustre and a few glassier lustre faces. The green prehnite gives the specimen presence in the display case. Overall the specimen is in good condition – there is some damage to the smaller datolites and there are contacts around the margins of the piece, but the main crystal is in excellent condition, with no damage and one contact at the back. A neat Roncari Quarry datolite from the Pete Richards collection – he acquired it in trade from Ward’s on June 10, 1981.
