Description

In the centre of this piece, the deep green dioptase is nestled like a cut gem, on crystallized quartz. Associated with the dioptase are crystallized aggregates of mid-green malachite. The dioptase crystal is sharp. Under strong light a phantom is visible and there is a nice play of internal reflections, as the crystal’s translucence is apparent. The central dioptase is in excellent condition (no damage) and smaller associated ones are incomplete. I’d display this piece on a stand mounted with support, oriented as photographed in the first photo. With good contrast against the lighter quartz and a nice combination with the malachite, this is a sweet specimen.
