Epidote, Quartz

Specimen # 102574
Mineral: Epidote, Quartz
Location: Kharan District, Balochistan, Pakistan
Size: 6.5 x 4.5 x 3.7 cm

Description

A group of quartz crystals hosting a fan of sharp, lustrous, epidote crystals. The quartz crystals are sharp and transparent to translucent, with good lustre, and a very thin coating of opal on the right-hand side of the main crystal (fluoresces green under UV light.) In excellent condition, the epidote fan has been reinforced (not visible) to keep a tiny fissure from causing a problem – one small incomplete crystal at the base of the fan. This is a beautiful display specimen.
