This specimen features a superb 2.0 cm crystal standing up on the matrix., with small quartz crystals and peripheral erythrite in association. The main crystal is in excellent condition, and some of the peripheral smaller ones are incomplete.  Stands perfectly for display as photographed. Displayed with the lights in at the right angle, this crystal really jumps out. It is a great erythrite crystal – quite the size for such quality.

Erythrite crystals from Bou Azzer are generally regarded as the finest in the world. The challenge with erythrite, however, is to obtain fine-quality specimens – the mineral is so soft and delicate that most specimens are damaged in the removal process or subsequent transportation.
