Fluorite

Specimen # 103098
Mineral: Fluorite
Location: Clara Mine, Oberwolfach, Freiburg, Baden-Wurttemberg, Germany
Size: 5.7 x 5.6 x 3.1 cm

Description

A pair of razor-sharp fluorite cubes on a thin plate of iron-oxide-coated quartz. These fluorite crystals are very subtly coloured – very faintly icy blue, but with some warmer areas inside. They are translucent have a frostly look. The crystals are each slightly stepped. In excellent condition – a tiny imperfection at the lower left corner of the large crystal, you don’t see it as displayed in the case unless you are really searching up close.

This piece is from the Tracy Kimmel Collection – during the early time of her collecting, she focused on building a suite of fine fluorite specimens.

This is a beautiful Clara Mine fluorite!
