Description

Detailed Description

This little howlite specimen is a gem. The howlite crystals are sharp and lustrous, and form a tight group (1.3 cm across) with many crystals radiating from the centre. Some of the crystals have a slightly smoky colour. In excellent condition – with magnification I can find one incomplete tip on the lower part of the cluster. This is a beautiful, classy piece.

About These Howlites

The howlite crystals from Bras D’Or Lake, Cape Breton Island, Nova Scotia are the best known – to date, this is the world’s only locality to produce howlite crystals, other than a California locality with microscopic ones.

This place can be a little rough… which is a very good thing in some ways, and less so in others!
