Detailed Description

This is a great plate of deep blue lazulite crystals, with some lighter blue crystallized lazulite lower on the piece. The lazulite crystals include beautiful hues of dark and vibrant blue, along with some greenish blue as well. These crystals are sharp, highly lustrous, and are twinned. The lighter areas at the bottom and at lower left include some well-developed faces and more recrystallized surface areas. In very good condition with minor chipping. Stands perfectly as photographed – this is a display specimen with good dark colour and sparkle under the lights.

About these Lazulites

Discovered in the 1970s, the occurrences at Rapid Creek have become known as among the best localities in the world for lazulite. These occurrences are very remote and the costs are high, so specimen collection efforts are few and far between, and it is hard to obtain fine specimens. These fine lazulites are from a recent find, in 2015.
