Description

Detailed Description

This one is a super piece, from a few years ago, with lazulite crystals perched on a bed of sparkling clear quartz crystals and great siderite crystals. The lazulite crystals are sharp, highly-lustrous, twinned, and under the lights they are beautiful deep blue with hints of green visible upon close inspection. The largest group measures 1.1 cm.The siderite crystals are great in their own right – they are sharp, lustrous and translucent to transparent – and the quartz crystals give sparkle and texture to the specimen. In excellent condition – the two main lazulite groups are perfect, and the one at the outer edge has slight chipping.

This is a fantastic Rapid Creek lazulite specimen.

About these Lazulites

Discovered in the 1970s, the occurrences at Rapid Creek have become known as among the best localities in the world for lazulite. These occurrences are very remote and the costs are high, so specimen collection efforts are few and far between, and it is hard to obtain fine specimens.
