Millerite

Specimen # 102543
Mineral: Millerite
Location: Sterling Mine, Antwerp, Jefferson Co., New York, USA
Size: 6.6 x 3.8 x 3.2 cm

Description

Beautiful sprays of millerite in a cavity in hematite. The millerite crystals are very fine needles, with a light brassy colour. The are associated with small platy crystals of hematite and rhombohedral crystals of dolomite. In excellent condition. From the collection of Rock Currier, specimen no. 3240, he acquired it in 1977 from Dick Hauck. A great specimen from the classic Sterling Mine.
