Pyrite

Specimen # 200473
Mineral: Pyrite
Location: Norfolk Southern Railroad Bellevue Yard, Erie Co., Ohio, USA
Size: 5.3 x 5.1 x 4.7 cm

Description

A cluster of stacked pyrite crystals from the Bellevue Railway Yard locality in Ohio. The crystals are well-defined cubes with small octahedral faces at the corners. They have a very thin oxide coating on them, giving their colour/patina. From the Pete Richards collection, he acquired it on September 15, 1990. In excellent condition, very minor chips and contacts. A very cool pyrite specimen!
