Description
This is a wonderful top quality specimen of “Herkimer Diamond” quartz crystals on matrix. This specimen presents such a great balance of size and quality – typically matrix pieces from Herkimer host smaller crystals, and the larger the crystals, usually they are cloudier and more internally fractured with windows and so on. This crystal measures 3.8 x 3.4 cm, and has wonderful sharpness, lustre and transparency, with the “windowing” entirely inside (giving great glow under the lights), and some very nice transparent areas in the upper crystal. In excellent condition – a couple of tiny chips if you search for them, but truly tiny. From the Tracy Kimmel Collection, and formerly the John S. White Collection (his label included) – it also has an older number on the back, but not clear whose collection number that was. This is a stately specimen – a true American classic!
