This specimen hosts many sharp, transparent, light purple amethyst crystals on a bed of colourless-white calcite crystals. Many of the amethyst crystals exhibit reverse-sceptre habit. In excellent condition, no damage. A very nice specimen of gemmy amethyst crystals.

About These Amethyst Specimens

These beautiful amethyst specimens are from a new occurrence, discovered in late 2017. They were found by farmers, at the edge of a field area, at the base of bordering hills. There isn’t more specific information about the locality at this time – I’m told that this is because it is in an unnamed remote area of Potosi, not near to any named settlement or named geographic feature. The specimens in this update are the best I’ve seen from the locality to date.
