Description
Detailed Description
This is a large-cabinet plate, with clusters of beautiful, sharp, light purple amethyst crystals on a bed of tiny white calcite crystals. These amethyst crystals are glassy and quite transparent, with bright lustre. They are aesthetically perched, isolated from one another, on the calcite crystals. A few of the amethyst crystals show a great reverse-sceptre habit. In excellent condition – no damage. The plate is thin and lightweight, so it is easy so support in a display stand.
A really nice display amethyst specimen from this unusual locality.

About These Amethyst Specimens
These beautiful amethyst specimens are from a new occurrence, discovered in late 2017. They were found by farmers, at the edge of a field area, at the base of bordering hills. There isn’t more specific information about the locality at this time – I’m told that this is because it is in an unnamed remote area of Potosi, not near to any named settlement or named geographic feature. The specimens in this update are the best I’ve seen from the locality to date.
