Description
Detailed Description
Lustrous light purple amethyst crystals standing up on a plate covered by tiny calcite crystals. The faces are sharp and bright, and the crystals are translucent to transparent. This specimen is unique, in that some crystal edges show elight etching and recrystallization. The etch features have a glossy lustre, and are seen well with magnification. One crystal on the piece exhibits a sharp little reverse sceptre habit. In excellent condition, no damage. Stands perfectly for display. An attractive specimen, a small forest of amethyst crystals.

About These Amethyst Specimens
These beautiful amethyst specimens are from a new occurrence, discovered in late 2017. They were found by farmers, at the edge of a field area, at the base of bordering hills. There isn’t more specific information about the locality at this time – I’m told that this is because it is in an unnamed remote area of Potosi, not near to any named settlement or named geographic feature. The specimens in this update are the best I’ve seen from the locality to date.
