Amethyst crystals standing up on a bed of calcite crystals, with calcite crystals perched among and upon the amethysts. The amethyst crystals are sharp and a nice light purple. Some faces are glassy-lustrous, while some have a silkier look. In excellent condition, no damage. The specimen has been stabilized in one place, not visible. An eye-catching specimen – dramatic, given the way the amethyst crystals are arranged.

About These Amethyst Specimens

These beautiful amethyst specimens are from a new occurrence, discovered in late 2017. They were found by farmers, at the edge of a field area, at the base of bordering hills. There isn’t more specific information about the locality at this time – I’m told that this is because it is in an unnamed remote area of Potosi, not near to any named settlement or named geographic feature. The specimens in this update are the best I’ve seen from the locality to date.
