Safflorite PS Silver, Skutterudite

Specimen # 103111
Mineral: Safflorite PS Silver, Skutterudite
Location: Shaft 366, Alberoda, Aue-Bad-Schlema, Erzegebirgskreis, Saxony, Germany
Size: 6.5 x 5.6 x 5.0 cm

Description

Sparkling tiny crystals of safflorite have replaced the silver crystals in this spectacular pseudomorph. As a result, the forms of the arborescent silver crystals have bright lustre and look super under the lights! Sharp, lustrous skutterudite crystals, including particularly around the left-hand side of the specimen (see fifth and sixth photos). From the Tracy Kimmel collection, she acquired it from Ross Lillie (his North Star Minerals label is  included) and it was formerly in the collection of Jorg Walther (his catalogue # 1498). In excellent condition. A gorgeous German safflorite pseudomorph after silver!
