Scorodite

Specimen # 103113
Mineral: Scorodite
Location: Clara Mine, Oberwolfach, Freiburg, Baden-Wurttemberg, Germany
Size: 3.3 x 2.7 x 1.3 cm

Description

This piece features brilliantly lustrous scorodite crystals from one of the world’s best localities for fine crystals of scorodite. The crystals are sharp and well-formed, translucent to transparent, and clustered together in groups and balls. In very good condition overall, a few missing crystals and chips, but this piece has impressive coverage by lots of super crystals.

From the Tracy Kimmel Collection, with two prior dealer labels (Crystal Classics and John Veevaert’s Trinity Mineral Company). A gorgeous Clara Mine scorodite!

N.B. The photos are, as always on this site, colour-balanced to approximate daylight (shade) – scorodite colour varies considerably depending on the light source (from blue to green). This is a tricky specimen – it is deep, like the video, but the hue changes quite a bit as the light changes.
