A gorgeous combination of deep red garnet crystals and lustrous smoky quartz crystals on microcline. The spessartine crystals are the top intense dark red colour, sharp and lustrous. The smoky quartz crystals are glassy lustrous, translucent to transparent. This specimen also has minor opal in association, including on the central top quartz crystals – it fluoresces an intense green. In excellent condition – one small nick on a quartz crystal, a missing back face in the one spessartine at upper right (not visible as displayed). Unlike many specimens from this locality, this piece shows no saw cuts from the prep work. A beautiful display piece!
