Description
This is a good-sized single ball of stilbite, of nice yellow colour, with small lusrous epidote crystals mostly around the base and underside of the specimen. Small grey prehnite balls also present on the underside. The main ball is complete. This one has some minor mineral coatings that did not come off in the lab – with a hand-lens I can distingush small acicular amphibole, minor epidote, some white which I suspect could be laumontite, and some black that is not easily identifiable (likely iron oxides). Little of this is visible from the front as I would display it – it adds interest around the back (second photo). In excellent condition from the front – inconspicous little rubs – and some minor edge rubs around the back. Nice large yellow stilbite ball for the price!
