Stilbite, Chabazite

Stilbite, Chabazite

Specimen # 100661
Mineral: Stilbite, Chabazite
Location: Wasson's Bluff, Cumberland Co., Nova Scotia, Canada
Size: 5.1 x 3.4 x 2.4 cm

Description

This piece features light yellow “wheat-sheaf” clusters of stilbite crystals, accompanied by pale pinkish orange chabazite crystals. The chabazite crystals are penetration twins. In excellent condition, one stilbite appears incomplete and one chabazite at the outer periphery is broken, but I would display with this at the bottom.  This specimen is from the collection of well-known Nova Scotia collector Terry Collett, catalogued as SSS183, collected December 1, 2010. A very pretty specimen combining these colours and these two minerals.
