Description
This specimen is a section of a seam of radial aggregates of wavellite crystals. There was not enough room in this seam for open space for the radial aggregates to form free-standing balls with terminal faces (there are actually a few terminations in small gap areas if you look for them, but most of the wavellite grows into the next wavellite). Rather the radial groups of crystals filled the seam and this specimen shows the cutaway view of that seam, with attractive green crystal bundles showing the radiating form typical of wavellite. A nice piece from the John S. White Pennsylvania Collection.
