Willemite

Specimen # 200641
Mineral: Willemite
Location: Trotter Dump, Franklin Mine, Franklin, Sussex Co., New Jersey, USA
Size: 2.7 x 2.2 x 1.8 cm

Description

A classic Franklin specimen with brilliant fluorescence under ultraviolet light – a well-defined, doubly-terminated willemite crystal in calcite. NB, in the natural-light photo, the light area on the lower prism face of the crystal is reflection of light (to help to show the crystal shape better). From the Pete Richards Collection, #3085 – he acquired it from Duane Leavitt in 1994. Super!
